In the past, yes a long time agao the mill at the rampart wasn't at all unique. Still in the middle of the last century, there were altogether six mills in the Bremen rampart and provided the population with flour of all kinds. Only one stood the test of time: the 'Ansgaritor Mill' - also 'Herdentor Mill' or 'Mill in the Gießhausbastion' called.

When you stroll from the railway main station to the city centre, the mill in the rampart is the first eye-catcher. One can undertake lovely walks around the mill and enjoy the very nice flower beds.

The Mühle itself can be visited. It also houses a restaurant.
